A full-time Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) students is needed for a K-12 school in Colorado Springs, CO. This full-semester contract role offers the opportunity to deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with hearing impairments during the 2025-2026 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Provide direct classroom instruction and support using appropriate communication methods
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and audio technicians to ensure accessibility and inclusion
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and school staff
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
- Experience working with K-12 students in a specialized or mainstream setting
- Strong knowledge of deaf education pedagogy and assistive technologies
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Work Schedule and Location:
