A dynamic opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a K-12 educational setting. This role is focused on delivering occupational therapy services tailored to children from kindergarten through 12th grade, enhancing their ability to participate fully in school activities.
Location: Lamar, Colorado
Duration: Contract for the school year (NSY)
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and adapt strategies to meet educational goals.
- Conduct assessments and document student progress in compliance with school and state regulations.
- Provide direct therapy services aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and daily living skills.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and accommodations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credential in good standing.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in an educational environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Familiarity with school-based therapy regulations and IEP processes.
