Full-Time School OT Help Students Build Independence in Dearborn City Schools

Dearborn City Schools is actively hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based therapy that empowers students to develop the skills they need for classroom and life success. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative, student-focused team.

Position Overview:
As an OT, you will assess student abilities, create individualized treatment plans, and deliver interventions that promote fine motor, adaptive, and sensory skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and prepare detailed reports

• Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with IEP goals

• Provide therapy to improve fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and self-care skills

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth

• Attend IEP meetings and share recommendations and progress updates

• Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district guidelines

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

• Active Michigan Occupational Therapy License

• Michigan Department of Education Certification for School-Based OT

• Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred

• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills

Job Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours

• Caseload: K12 students (assignments determined by district needs)
