A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) is needed for the 2025-2026 school year to provide critical support in educational settings for students with speech-language disorders. This full-time role operates under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and involves delivering individualized speech and language interventions to students from PreK through 5th grade.
Location: Exeter, CA (Itineranttravel to multiple elementary school sites as student needs change)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, in-person
Duration: August 6, 2025 June 5, 2026 (school year contract)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing intervention programs designed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist to improve student speech outcomes
- Collect case histories, complete observation checklists, and assist during assessments and scoring of speech and language tests
- Collaborate with therapists, teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and participate in IEP meetings and other conferences
- Prepare documentation such as evaluations, progress notes, and communications to ensure comprehensive student support
- Transport students between therapy and testing locations as needed
- Maintain a positive, communicative, and collaborative approach in all interactions
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license required
- Bachelors Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders
- Previous school-based experience or paraprofessional work preferred
- Training or experience in language and articulation therapy a plus
- Strong communication skills with excellent listening and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and work effectively within a team environment
