Pediatric School Speech and Language Pathologist Elgin, Illinois

A school district in the Elgin, IL area is seeking two dedicated Speech Language Pathologists to support K-12 students in a therapeutic day school setting. Serving 20-30 students per caseload, this role focuses on working with children experiencing autism, intellectual disabilities, and social-emotional challenges. The position runs from August 12, 2025, through June 5, 2026, with an extended summer program from June 22 to July 17, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and provide individualized therapy plans.
• Utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools to enhance communication abilities.
• Address behavioral challenges through evidence-based approaches in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver therapy services primarily onsite, with some flexibility for teletherapy closer to the school year.
• Maintain detailed progress notes, communicate with families and educators, and participate in IEP meetings.

Qualifications:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, pediatrics, or school-based settings.
• Comfort working with children with autism, intellectual disabilities, and behavioral needs.
• Experience with AAC and behavior management is strongly recommended.
• Candidates who are Speech Language Pathology Clinicians (SLP-CF) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) will be considered.
