GRADE STD 0019 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH - John L Gildner RICA 15000 Broschart Rd Rockville, MD 20850 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is assessment, planning, evaluating and implementing art therapy treatment for children and adolescents with emotional disability. This position also involves coordinating students' treatment in conjunction with overall individual treatment plans. This position may provide guidance and direction to students and volunteers assigned to the art therapy program. This position does not supervise other positions. This position performs the full range of duties and responsibilities under general supervision. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT). Experience: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapists (LCPAT). DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The desired candidate should possess experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS 1. Candidates placed in this classification must be licensed by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT).2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.3. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.4. Employees in this classification assigned to facilities with a swimming pool may be required to obtain Red Cross instruction and certification in Life Saving and Water Safety prior to permanent appointment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Employees in this classification are subject to call-in, and therefore, will be required to provide the agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
