Position Summary:
Public schools across the New Orleans, LA Metro Area are seeking an experienced and credentialed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to support students' communication development across PreK-12th grade. This role is ideal for a collaborative, student-centered clinician who thrives in school-based environments and is committed to improving educational outcomes through high-quality speech and language services.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations in accordance with federal and state guidelines
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible students
Provide direct therapy services (individual and group) aligned with IEP goals
Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including progress reports, evaluation results, and Medicaid billing (if applicable)
Participate in IEP meetings and serve as a communication expert for school teams
Provide training or guidance to staff and families on speech/language strategies
Stay current with best practices and participate in ongoing professional development
Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
Active Louisiana SLP License (or eligibility to obtain) through the Louisiana Board of Examiners for SLPs and Audiologists
School-based experience preferred, but not required
Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and therapy best practices in educational settings
Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills
Clear, effective written and verbal communication
Ability to manage a diverse caseload and flexibly adapt to varying school environments
Commitment to student success and inclusive education
