The prospective candidate will provideindividual and family therapy, conduct mental health assessments,and guide the provision of other therapeutic supports such as casemanagement and coordination of care. We offer great benefits and LPC and LCSW licensuresupervision. Wages: Mental Health Therapist 1: $28.67 - $38.42 hr.Mental Health Therapist 2: $34.78 - $46.60 hr. GENERAL STATEMENT OFDUTIES Mental Health Therapist 2 : Provide assessments andtreatment of individuals and families, including groups; providescrisis assessment and intervention services and related duties asrequired. Primary responsibility of this class is to provideassessment and treatment services; crisis intervention, andtreatment services, including intensive services, to individualsand their families with complex needs and diagnoses and/or todevelop and implement specific services in the community. MentalHealth Therapist 1 : Plans and carries out recreational, social andskills training activities; performs case management and counselingfunctions with consumers and their families; facilitates counselingand/or skills training groups; performs related duties as required.Primary responsibility of this class is case management andcounseling, without responsibility for developing and implementingspecific programs in the community. SUPERVISION RECEIVED MentalHealth Therapist 2 and 1 : Works under the supervision of asupervisor who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews theresults obtained for overall effectiveness. SUPERVISION EXERCISEDMental Health Therapist 2 and 1 : Supervision of others is not aresponsibility of positions in this classification. Providesindividual and family therapy to children, adolescents andtransition age youth in the Salem and surrounding communities; mayprovide these services in a community setting. Provides intakemental health assessments including screening for alcohol and drugissues. Documents services to meet contract, administrative ruleand billing requirements. Expectation is that employee will strivefor 30 hours per week to be scheduled with therapy, client support,committee work and approved training. Provides consultation,training and orientation regarding mental health and co-occurringdisorders treatment to team members, student interns and otherprofessionals. Provides case management services to clients.Assists clients and families with accessing communitysupports/resources, including in community settings if indicated.Assists with making referrals for services. Provides services inthe community, so driving is required. Performs other duties asassigned by the supervisor. Response Level 2: In the event of anemergency, employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work.Employee may be required to perform duties outside of theirregularly assigned duties. Employee may be requested to work anextended or flexible schedule. Staff at this response level mustcomplete Incident Command System 100 and 700 on-line or in-persontraining. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Possession of a Master's degreein Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy,Art Therapy or a behavioral science field, or possession of abachelor's degree in Nursing and licensed by the State of Oregon,or possession of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy andlicensed by the State of Oregon; OR second year graduate studentswaivered as QMHP's by the Oregon Health Authority. Mental HealthTherapist 2 Only: In addition to the educational requirementsabove, the Mental Health Therapist 2 must have at least one year offull-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral healthfield. PREFERENCES Preference will be awarded to candidates who areLCSW, CSWA or eligible for LCSW. Qualified candidates will beeligible for licensure supervision if hired. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMust be either 1) licensed by the Oregon Board of LicensedProfessional Counselors, 2) licensed by the Oregon Board ofLicensed Social Workers or 3) credentialed or registered throughthe Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO)as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) within the first30 days of employment. Applicants may be required to pass apractical knowledge and skills assessment as part of the interviewprocess. This position may be subject to the following: Must not beexcluded from participation in the federal health care programs(Medicaid, Medicare and other federally funded programs thatprovide health benefits); AND must not be excluded fromparticipating in federal procurement (Federal AcquisitionRegulation) and non-procurement activities (Executive Order No.12549). Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant'sstate of residence and an acceptable driving history. Marion Countywill obtain a copy of the driving record for all qualifiedapplicants from Driver and Motor Vehicle Services and review thedriving record according to the Marion County policy and procedurefor Driving on County Business. Typical Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with one late clinic weekly(10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.) with flexibility depending upon the needsof the department and program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESWorking knowledge of community mental health concepts and/orchemical dependency case management and treatment services;individual assessment, treatment planning and treatment protocols;mental health disorders and diagnostic classifications. Ability toestablish positive working relationships with other employees,individuals and their families, other agencies, and the public;prepare concise and complete clinical documentation related toindividual treatment and progress in services in a timely andprofessional manner; work within a team and collaborate with teammembers; knowledge of and ability to act professionally with regardto a code of ethics and confidentiality. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSOperates a motor vehicle; sees using depth perception; sits;stands; moves about the work area; climbs 1 floor of stairs;operates a keyboard; lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries up to 5lbs.; moves carts weighing up to 5 lbs.; speaks with a clear andaudible voice; reads a 12 pt. font; hears a normal speech level;works in areas that may be exposed to heat, cold, smoke, and noise.We offer tuition assistance for employees interested inprofessional development.
