The Occupational Therapist (OT) is primarily responsible for providing specialized services to students in the PACE Preschool who have Individualized Education Plan (IEP) requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Implements therapeutic activities to address deficits in the area/s of fine motor, visual motor, sensory motor, and visual perceptual as indicated on the IEP (504 plan).
-Administers, interprets, and writes up assessments in the areas of fine motor, visual motor, sensory motor and visual perceptual how these areas affect a student's academic performance.
-Instructs students, teachers, parents and other involved persons for the purpose of supporting the student's IEP (or 504) plan.
-Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans (IEP, 504) for services and/or making recommendations.
-Participates in meetings, processes, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that state standards and/or federal mandates are achieved (IEP or 504 process).
-Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. progress reports, daily treatment notes, student activities, correspondence, IEP's, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
-Presents information (e.g. student performance data, and clinical feedback, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.

PACE is currently searching for enthusiastic, energetic and team oriented Occupational Therapists to work with the Moderate to Severe student population that range from 2 years to 21 years of age.
The Occupational Therapists at PACE strive to increase the independence in activities of the school day, academics, work, leisure, and self care. They collaborate with the students and their families along with the other professionals, including special education teachers, speech language pathologists and the instructional specialists, in order to provide dynamic and skilled direct treatment to reach the students' goals.
The Occupational Therapist will need to have the ability to plan, develop and execute treatment plans for the students. The individual will be responsible for developing the OT goals for the students on their case load. In addition the incumbent must be able to collaborate with other pertinent staff to discuss the students' needs, their progress and to share knowledge and strategies on improving goals.
The following is a list of essential requirements that PACE is searching for in each individual team member:
- MA in Occupational Therapy from Accredited School.
- CA OT License
- Preferred Experience work in pediatric setting
- Preferred Experience work with Autistic Clients
- Preferred Experience working in a school setting
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic, Motivating and Team Oriented
