Position Summary
Responsible for evaluating patients and developing treatment plans that integrate with the continuum of care.
Responsibilities• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available,family and significant other persons and data sources.
• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
• Provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
• Assesses data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and provides the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
• Competent in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observes safety precautions and provide verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
• Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from speech therapy.
• Ensures accurate billing for own therapy services.
• Understands and respects age group, cultural and religious beliefs of clients, community and staff.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Respects the rights and privacy of others and holds staff member information in strictconfidence.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Education/Training
Master’s degree in speech/language pathology from an approved program. Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) may apply.
Licensure/Certification
• Certificate of Clinical Competence or active engagement in Clinical Fellowship Year Requirements.
• Maintains current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Florida. Provisional license is acceptable.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
