· The therapist is responsible for the provision of Recreation Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions and discharge leisure planning. The therapist utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the patient’s behavior, such as cognitive, social, emotional or physical. The therapist educates the client in healthy coping skills, and available leisure resources to continue the client in post-discharge leisure planning and involvement. The therapist will be responsible for the provision of services according to the current standards of practice. The therapist has the supervisory position of lead therapist as well as coordinating all aspects of the Recreation Therapy department under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an approved program.
- Certification by National Certification Board (NCTRC).
- Previous experience in psychiatric setting of 2 years (preferred).
- Previous supervisory experience of 1 year (preferred).
