Course Description: The course is the second full-time clinical practice internship. Emphasis is on development of professional practice and attainment of skills in professional behaviors and patient management incorporating evidence-based practice guidelines.

Relationship to the Curriculum Design: This is the second in a series of three full-time clinical education courses in the domain of Habits of Clinical Practice. This course is scheduled for the Fall semester, following completion of all didactic course work in the preceding two years of the program and successful completion of one full-time clinical internship in the summer semester. This clinical internship allows students to apply hands-on application of skills safely and effectively, to integrate knowledge of foundational sciences and movement system principles, and to enhance clinical reasoning through application of the patient/client management model. In addition, this experience allows students to use reflection and experiential learning to develop expertise in their professional behavior, competence in the communication, critical inquiry, interprofessional practice, cultural
sensitivity, supervision and delegation, financial management, and education of others as required by physical therapists in a clinical setting.
