Job Summary
The Manager, Respiratory Therapy is responsible for overseeing all clinical and operational aspects of the Respiratory Therapy department to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. This role involves leading a team of respiratory therapists, developing and implementing department policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive respiratory care. The Manager also plays a key role in quality improvement initiatives and staff development.
Essential Functions
- Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures to maintain high standards of respiratory care in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Supervises respiratory therapy staff, managing scheduling, staffing levels, and conducting performance evaluations to support a high-functioning team.
- Coordinates with medical staff to provide comprehensive respiratory care that meets the needs of diverse patient populations.
- Oversees the acquisition and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment and supplies, ensuring resources are used effectively and cost-efficiently.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and implementing strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
- Ensures staff compliance with mandatory training, certifications, and competency requirements.
- Provides training and professional development opportunities to support staff growth and improve clinical skills.
- Ensures accurate documentation and record-keeping for patient care activities in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related healthcare field required
- 3-5 years of experience in respiratory therapy required
- 1-2 years of prior leadership experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications
- RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
