Respiratory Therapist SeniorDepartment: RGH Respiratory Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 24Schedule: Day/Night 2 x 12's SUMMARY:As a Senior Respiratory Therapist, your strong knowledge, evaluations and recommendations are key to the successful treatment and comfort of patients. You are viewed by patients, families and staff as a necessary, helpful, and educational resource. Unit/Department Specific Info> RESPONSIBILITIES: + Evaluation & Development. Review and evaluate all pertinent and existing data in patient record; modify therapeutic techniques based on patient response; initiate and update respiratory care plan for all patients per department policy and procedure + Leadership. Advise providers on appropriate respiratory care procedures and techniques for individual patient care; recommend, conduct and document prescribed therapeutic procedures; coach, mentor and train new staff + Equipment Management. Select, assemble and check respiratory care equipment for proper function, operation and cleanliness REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Associates degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate is required + 2 years previous full time critical care experience in respiratory care is required; part time and per diem experience will be pro-rated to determine eligibility. + New York State Respiratory Therapist license with current registration + Current NBRC RRT credential is required for all Respiratory Therapist entering the field after 9/1993 + ACLS certification (current) required within one year of hire + Respiratory therapists employed in to non-acute (pulmonary) areas are excluded from the ACLS requirement PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Demonstrated leadership skills + Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills EDUCATION: AS: Respiratory Therapy (Required) LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. PAY RANGE: $37.08 - $48.41 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14621 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
