One of our clients in Omaha, NE is seeking an Acute Physical Therapy Assistant to join their acute-care team. This hospital-based department prides itself on inclusivity and outstanding patient care. • Patient Observation & Reporting
  • Monitor patients during acute-care treatments, evaluate their responses and progress, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist in person or via detailed progress notes.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  • Confer with PT staff and other healthcare team members to plan, modify, and coordinate individualized treatment plans for post-surgical, orthopedic, neurologic, and medically complex patients.
• Safe Patient Handling
  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas; lift and transfer using proper body mechanics and positioning techniques; secure patients into therapy equipment.
• Equipment Management
  • Oversee operation and safety of rehabilitation equipment; record equipment usage and treatment administration accurately.
• Assistive Device Fitting
  • Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices (e.g., crutches) under PT guidance.

• Associate degree or certification from an accredited PTA program.
• Current CPR certification; BLS preferred.
• Strong customer service and patient-care skills in a fast-paced acute setting.
• Basic understanding of physical therapy principles, medical terminology, and hospital protocols.
