Associate Professor - Physical Therapy - Tenure Track Western Michigan University

Job Description:

• Teach in areas of expertise and additional assigned content areas.
• Contribute to the department's program development and management.
• Supervise and advise students.
• Develop and sustain a scholarly research agenda in accordance with contemporary CAPTE standards and WMU institutional expectations.
• Contribute to curricular development and assessment.
• Participate and provide expertise to reaffirm program accreditation.
• Provide service to the DPT program, department, university, profession, and community.
• Contribute to an interprofessional environment of instruction and community collaborations.
• Contribute to the department's recruitment and retention efforts.

Short Job Description:

• Earned Physical Therapy (PT) degree from an accredited institution.
• Academic credentials to include any of the following:
  • PT degree AND an academic doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, EdD, or DHSc), OR
  • Clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) AND ABPTS certification.

• Current, active physical therapy licensure, and eligibility to obtain Michigan physical therapy licensure.
• Demonstrated academic rank of Assistant Professor for a minimum of 3 years.
• Demonstrated academic contemporary expertise in one or more of the identified areas.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence and assessment experience at a graduate level.
• Demonstrated experience conducting research with evidence of a strong scholarly agenda including external funding and peer-reviewed scientific study publications.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to function well within a collegial, collaborative work environment.
