The Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance is accepting applications for the Inaugural Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. The successful candidate will be an effective, innovative, collaborative leader, teacher, and scholar who will play a central role in designing, implementing, and directing this new program. This is a 12-month appointment beginning in Spring 2026. Academic rank (Associate Professor, Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor) and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required qualifications for this position include earned clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy (i.e., DTP) or a terminal doctorate (i.e., Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities from a regionally accredited program or qualify for a CAPTE exemption, a minimum of six years of employment in higher education (with three years as core faculty members in an accredited entry-level physical therapist education program) and be licensed as Physical Therapist in SC or eligible for licensure in SC.

Desired qualifications for this position include but are not limited to: Previous DPT Program Director experience, previous or applicable experience including DPT program development for CAPTE candidacy, assessment, planning, fiscal management, curriculum development, and knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the profession of Physical Therapy.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous DPT Program Director experience. Documented prior leadership, administrative, program development, personnel, policy development, curriculum development, and budgetary experience. Demonstrated experience in leading successful CAPTE accreditation processes.
