Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director, Special Education, and under the direction and monitoring supervision of the speech pathologist(s), assists in providing instruction specific to the area of speech and language communication to students identified as having special needs; monitors the use of augmentative communication devices and systems; does related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
License and Certification:
-Must possess a valid California license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant granted by the California Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
-Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license.
-Possession of an appropriate, valid California driver's license prior to the completion of the probationary period.
-Ability to be covered under the District property/liability insurance.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education:
An Associate's degree in a state-approved speech-language pathology assistant training program, or a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders/Speech Language Pathology.
Experience:
One year of paid experience working with children in a structured organizational environment.
