Shift: PRN, Part-Time up to Full Time

Classification: Non-Exempt

Qualifications:

AS degree of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

BS/ MS degree required for OTR.

Hold current valid license from state of Georgia.

At least two (2) years experience in hospital setting is preferred but not required.

Current CPR certification preferred but not required.

Current clinical competency to Occupational therapy care in inpatient and outpatient setting to include direct patient care, scheduling and documentation (assessed within 90 days of hire).

Ability to work rotating and weekend shifts.

Ability to work overtime if necessary.

Occupational Requirements:

Must be able to maneuver up to 75 pounds.

Must be able to stretch, climb, crawl, walk, run, bend, twist, and squat.

Sufficient sight (including color discrimination), manual dexterity and mobility to function effectively.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.

Ability to work in hazardous and biohazardous areas.

Ability to work in a controlled environment.

Must be able to stoop and retrieve objects from floor level without restrictions.

Must be able to stand for long periods; must be able to sit for short periods.

May be required to climb ladders/stools to heights of three (3) feet or more.

Must have full use of hands and arms in order to balance, feel, manipulate, and operate knobs and levers.

Must have visual acuity to view data on computer screen for long periods of time and read computer generated reports.

Summary/Objective

Responsible for the treatment of referred patients once treatment plan has been established by licensed OT as related to Occupational Therapy services. Administration of Occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician

Essential Functions

Gathers objective data to assist Occupational Therapist as requested in the evaluation of progress

Administers plan of care as established by the licensed OT in collaboration with patient/family related to the person's age and lifestyle with measurable long and short term goals as defined in D/C plan.

Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities

Stimulate Occupational and psychological rehabilitation by teaching patients daily living skills such as dressing and eating in order to restore independence and self reliance.

Prepares necessary documentation, including patient treatment records and daily charges.

Provides instruction to patients and families as necessary

Other duties as required.
