The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. The person in this role will also record treatments given and note progress in medical records. In this role, you are entrusted with ensuring that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
Assure all treatment is delivered following an established plan of care
Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers
Monitor patient response to treatment intervention
Complete required forms and documentation following company policy and state/federal regulations

Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education)
Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist
Empathy and patience when working with patients
Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises
1 year of experience in skilled nursing facility (may be required by the state).
