Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Technician supports the therapy team (Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists) in providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents. The Rehab Tech assists in preparing treatment areas, transporting residents, maintaining equipment, and ensuring smooth operations of the rehab department within a skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist therapists in setting up and cleaning treatment areas.
  • Transport residents to and from therapy sessions safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and supplies.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, scheduling, data entry, and documentation assistance under the direction of licensed therapists.
  • Monitor residents during therapy sessions for safety and comfort.
  • Ensure equipment is sanitized and in good working condition.
  • Support therapists in non-clinical tasks to optimize resident care and workflow.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or rehab setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of physical therapy/occupational therapy principles is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to safely assist with resident mobility and transfers.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
  • CPR certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to assist with resident transfers and mobility activities.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier loads using appropriate equipment or help.

Work Environment:

  • Skilled Nursing Facility; fast-paced and resident-focused.
  • Collaborates closely with interdisciplinary team members.
