Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract This opportunity is for a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in elementary school settings, based in Joliet, IL. The position is a contract role running from late July 2025 through early June 2026, with a 35-hour workweek supporting one co-taught classroom of 6 to 10 students alongside an LBS1 teacher. The role centers on delivering comprehensive speech and language services to elementary-age students within a collaborative and supportive educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the planning and delivery of speech-language therapy targeting assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language delays. Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as appropriate for student needs. Prepare clear, detailed reports based on student assessments and observations. Work confidently with students with moderate to severe disabilities, ages 2 to 22. Develop and maintain individualized IEP objectives. Collaborate effectively with parents, educators, and team members to monitor and support student developmental progress. Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and a Professional Educator License (PEL). Preferred 1 to 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in school settings. Strong communication skills with the ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
