A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to support student development in a middle school setting serving K-12 students. This contract position offers 35-40 hours per week throughout the school year, providing an excellent opportunity to work closely with two onsite occupational therapists in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to support student progress
- Document and track student progress and maintain compliance with school and state regulations
- Adapt therapeutic techniques to meet diverse student needs within the classroom setting
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active COTA certification and licensure in the state
- Experience working in school-based occupational therapy, preferably with K-12 populations
- Ability to manage caseloads involving mild and moderate students effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with onsite occupational therapists and school staff
- Flexibility and commitment to work a standard school-year contract
