Performs general, non-technical duties; assists Physical Therapist and PTA in positioning, lifting, transferring and treatment of patients; maintains equipment and facilities.

Essential Job Functions:

Under the direction of a physical therapist or PTA assists with physical therapy services in inpatient and outpatient setting.

Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy.

Assists in transporting, transferring, and immobilizing of patients.

Will act as a receptionist, greet patients, and answer phones.

Is responsible for the daily cleaning of equipment and maintaining neatness throughout the department.

Organizes assigned work and accurately completes workload.

Under the supervision of the PT or PTA, will help in the training of new employees

Follows hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.

Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.

Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a Physical Therapy Technician/Aide program is preferred.

Previous experience as a CNA or other relevant clinical experience.

Basic understanding of physical therapy modalities, safe transfer and transport techniques as well as exercise technique.

Full time, M-TH 8-2:30pm, F 8-4:30
