Travel Respiratory Therapist - NICU RT

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of NICU and high-risk delivery experience for a pediatric/neonatal day shift assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a NICU respiratory care unit caring for neonates through pediatric patients
  • Experience with high risk deliveries is required
  • Day shift (3x12 hours), 7:00 to 19:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating expected within the facility (including adult care) and possibly to a sister campus
  • Experience with Draeger and Servo I ventilators is required
  • Unit uses Epic EMR and prior Epic experience is required
  • Scrub color is hunter green
  • Daily responsibilities include advanced respiratory support for neonatal and pediatric patients, high risk deliveries, and assisting with specialized neonatal respiratory procedures
  • Travelers must complete and schedule required compliance items and labs within 48 hours of signing the contract
  • Modules are completed during orientation and are recorded via transcripts
  • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed during assignment; no RTO allowed in the first week
  • Availability to work major holidays as required by policy is mandatory, with specifics based on the number of holidays during the contract period
  • Required to float within the facility and to a local sister campus as needed
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year to return as a traveler
  • No blocked scheduling allowed
  • Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift in the same unit
Requirements
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • GA or Compact license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU settings, including high risk deliveries
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP
  • Proficiency with pulmonary toileting, ABG interpretation, basic EKG, BiPAP, CPAP, trach collar, and surfactant administration
  • Experience with umbilical cord gases is required
  • Must provide two supervisory references (manager or above)
  • First-time travelers are accepted
