Speech & Language Pathology Assistant in Belvidere, IL

A full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 school setting located in Belvidere, IL. This contract position offers approximately 40 hours per week, serving students with diverse communication needs across all grade levels. The role includes responsibilities during the school year as well as summer services.

Key Qualifications:

  • For SLPs: Masters degree (M.S. or M.A.) in Communication Disorders, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), Illinois licensure or license-eligibility, and Illinois PEL Certification.
  • For SLPAs: Bachelors degree, Illinois licensure or license-eligibility, and Illinois PEL Certification.
  • Experience in school-based or pediatric speech-language services is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with special education staff and adapt to a variety of student needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students communication skills.
  • Providing therapy services to school-aged children with disabilities and speech or language disorders.
  • Collaborating with special education professionals to develop effective treatment plans tailored to student needs.
  • Preparing documentation, reports, and participating in meetings as required.

This contract runs from July 2025 through June 2026, with competitive pay rates negotiated based on experience both overall and within school or pediatric settings.
