POSITION: LIAISON for Speech and Language Teletherapy
REPORTS TO: Director of Exceptional Education
SUMMARY:
186 Days (7.0 hour work day)
Salary based on Richmond Community Schools Non-Contractual Salary Schedule.
Supervises Teletherapy for Speech and Language
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be present, on time and ready to work.
Work collaboratively with Administrators, SLPs, and teachers.
Escorts student to/from therapy sessions as necessary, and reports any absences.
Assists with mild troubleshooting & case management responsibilities as necessary.
Access student data for online clinician in PowerSchool.
Fill out necessary paperwork if student has a primary disability of Speech/Language Impairment. (follow bulleted instructions below)
- The Liaison will send information letters from the SLP to the student's parents.
- The Liaison will assist with arranging assessments as requested by the SLP.
- The Liaison will obtain state test scores requested by the SLP.
- The Liaison will print and send home the Notice of Case Conference, which is created by the SLP.
- The Liaison will send a copy of the IEP to Department of Exceptional Education at Central Office and place a copy of the IEP in the student's C-1 file.
- The Liaison will submit a PowerSchool Data Entry Form to the building secretary after every Annual Conference or after any conference where information is changed.
- The Liaison will complete Move-In forms and submit them to Department of Exceptional Education at Central Office.
- The Liaison will inform Department of Exceptional Education at Central Office if the SLP changes for a student.
- The Liaison will inform Department of Exceptional Education at Central Office if a student transfers to a different RCS building or withdraws.
Scheduling of sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Exceptional Education.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Have good attendance.
Be dependable.
Basic computer skills.
Online training for teletherapy.
Possess interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Must complete training that will be available through online modules or professional development, this training will be provided for your prospective job
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Good oral and written communication skills a must.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to problem solve.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math, pre-algebra and algebra are needed.
