The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas at Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist. The ideal candidate should have experience in the evaluation and treatment of Neonates and swallowing disorders. Ability to practice independently is preferred. The successful candidate will work within a growing multidisciplinary team of laryngologists, H&N surgeons, other SLPs, and SLP students.
Job Duties- Evaluates and treats inpatient and outpatient adults and pediatric patients with communication disorders and/or
swallowing disorders. - Schedules appointments, discusses patient progress and/or status with physicians and other professionals.
- Provides patient/family education.
- Monitors patient needs.
- Documents daily treatment and evaluation results.
- May supervise student externs.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and Texas State Licensure as a Speech Pathologist from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
