Travel Respiratory Therapist

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least one year of specialty experience and an active state license for an evening 12-hour shift, contract-to-hire position.

Responsibilities
  • Work in the Respiratory Therapy department, Unit 1
  • Patient population includes those with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities
  • Responsibilities include advanced-level respiratory care, diagnostic testing procedures, and administration of life support interventions
  • EPIC charting system is used
  • 12-hour evening shifts, three days per week
  • May be required to float to other departments based on business needs
  • On-call may be required during scheduled shifts
  • Contract-to-hire assignment
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic respiratory procedures, initiate protocols, and oversee equipment operation
  • Administer medications and intervene based on patient assessment and orders
  • Provide patient and family education regarding self-care and health promotion
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation according to departmental standards
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental meetings
  • Act as a mentor and resource for CRT staff and other team members
  • Expectation to complete background check and drug screen through a designated vendor; allow at least two weeks for results
  • All certification copies must be provided and must not expire prior to the assignment start date
Requirements
  • Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
  • Current active license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice required; no pending licenses allowed (License required if applicable)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA, with certification valid through assignment dates
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty
  • Experience with EPIC charting required
