Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role includes developing individualized treatment plans, educating staff and families, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes. Key Responsibilities Evaluate residents for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to resident needs Provide skilled therapy aligned with medically necessary goals Assist with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies as needed Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on therapeutic techniques and progress Coordinate instrumental swallowing evaluations (e.g., MBSS, FEES) with physicians Accurately document services per facility and regulatory guidelines Respond to family questions and concerns promptly Train and support restorative nursing staff Maintain compliance with all ethical, legal, and professional standards Uphold resident dignity and confidentiality at all times Qualifications Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license ASHA Certification (Clinical Fellows not accepted at this time) Good standing with all relevant licensing and regulatory agencies Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) or long-term care preferred Familiarity with Net Health documentation system is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Why Join Oakmont Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Katy?
