Travel Respiratory Therapist

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and pediatric, adult, and neonatal inpatient expertise for a night shift assignment.

• Work in an acute care inpatient setting within the respiratory therapy department
• Patient population includes adults, pediatrics, and neonates
• Handles EKGs and bedside bronchoscopies as part of daily responsibilities
• Utilizes Drager and Philips V200 ventilators, Vision/V60/V30 BiPAPs, and Airvo2 high flow devices
• 12-hour night shifts (6pm-6am) with team-based scheduling
• Weekend rotation every other weekend for nights and every third weekend for days
• Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff
• Floating required within the hospital
• Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience preferred
• Three 12-hour unit-specific orientation shifts provided
• Provide respiratory care for diverse age groups in an acute care setting
• Successful completion of dysrhythmia and sterile technique exams required before or during orientation, with pass/fail outcome and up to two attempts allowed
• Failing clinical exams twice results in a six month DNU (Do Not Use) status for certain regions
• Rotating holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of the care team
• Up to 7 days of requested time off can be approved if requested upfront during the contract; additional RTO will not be approved
• Standard dress code or scrubs as required by hospital policy

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP and PALS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of recent respiratory therapist experience required
• Ability to perform EKGs and assist with bedside bronchoscopies
• Must be licensed as a Respiratory Therapist (license required if applicable)
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not eligible
• Must not be full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
• Active certifications must be included at time of consideration; pending certifications not accepted
