Sediment Remediation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled environmental engineer or scientist to support sediment remediation projects with a focus on subaqueous systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of contaminant fate and transport modeling, particularly through sediment caps, with experience using CapSim preferred. Responsibilities include developing CAD drawings for dredging and excavation projects, performing slope stability modeling, and designing field sampling programs to inform conceptual site models and mass balance analyses. The role also involves interpreting data from sediment cores and bathymetric surveys, developing and calibrating numerical or desktop models, and evaluating the feasibility of remediation technologies. The candidate will contribute to the design of large-scale sediment remediation projects and serve as the primary technical liaison with clients, demonstrating the ability to assess complex problems and communicate effective strategies.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, environmental sciences, physics, or chemistry

Experience with modeling contaminant fate and transport through sediment caps in subaqueous systems

Experience modeling using CapSim software

Experience with CAD to develop drawings for contaminted sediment dredging and/or soil excavation projects

Expereince developing field sample programs and data analysis to develop site models for transport processes

Experience with numerical and/or desktop model development, calibration, and application

Experience evaluating feasibility of sediment remediation technology and assisting in development of sediment remediation designs for contaminated sediment sites Experience with other modeling softwares outside of CapSim null
