Position Summary:
Core tenure-track faculty in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program at Western Oregon University teach, advise, and mentor students; contribute to curriculum development and accreditation efforts; engage in service at the university and within the profession; and maintain active scholarly work across areas such as discovery, integration, application, and teaching. Faculty may also be assigned other institutional duties that support program operations.
In alignment with ACOTE standards, core faculty must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in Oregon and hold a doctoral degree from a USDE-recognized accredited institution (or an ACOTE-approved equivalent for international degrees).
Key Responsibilities
Teach or co-teach courses based on area(s) of expertise and program needs
Provide academic and capstone advising to OTD students
Support curriculum development and program evaluation
Contribute to program accreditation efforts
Maintain scholarly activity
Provide service to the department, university, and profession
Support a learning environment that values diversity, inclusion, and belonging

Required Qualifications: Please ensure your application materials clearly demonstrate how you meet the following:
Doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D. OTD) in Occupational therapy or a related field (ACOTE standard A.2.7)
Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy program, passed the NBCOT exam, and is eligible for licensure as an OT in OR. (ACOTE standard A.2.6)
Experience in teaching, research, and service in academic and/or clinical environments
Clinical practice background in physical rehabilitation settings
Strong organizational and documentation abilities
Established expertise in occupational therapy consistent with ACOTE Standard A.2.3
Excellent communication skills with a track record of effective problem-solvingDemonstrated ability to support individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and languages
Proven ability to cultivate and maintain productive community and professional partnerships
