A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the upcoming school year in an elementary school setting located in Hickory Hills, IL. This contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with a co-taught classroom, serving 6 to 10 students, alongside an LBS1 teacher. The position runs from August 21, 2025, through June 8, 2026, with essential orientation sessions scheduled for July 31 and August 6.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language therapy addressing areas such as assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language delays.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as appropriate to assess student needs.
- Develop clear, comprehensive reports based on student assessments and observations.
- Provide services to students with moderate to severe disabilities ranging in age from 2 to 22 years.
- Create and maintain IEP objectives tailored to each student's needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student progress and support strategies.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and possess a Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Preferably 1 to 2 years of experience as an SLP in a school or related setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
