Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT to assist the Physical Therapist to improve mobility, relieve pain, prevent or limit permanent physical disability and promote overall fitness and wellness of patients in both home and facility settings. The ideal candidate has very strong communication skills, is reliable, professional, and empathetic, with a passion for helping others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapy Services: Provide therapy services consistent with the patient's approved plan of care to relieve pain, develop and restore function and maintain maximum performance.
  • Documentation/Assessments: Document patient care observations, interventions and evaluation on the day services are rendered in appropriate programs. Assist Physical Therapist with the preparation of patient progress notes. Assess, monitor, document and report progress of patient's health and condition using required documents, reports and established timelines.
  • Observation: Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on their responses and progress and provide results to physical therapist in person or through progress notes. Confer with Physical Therapist to modify existing physical therapy treatment plans and training needs to achieve maximum results.
  • Patient Education: Utilize varied solutions to educate and promote the health and independence of the patient which includes instruction in the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices and durable medical equipment.
  • Communication: Communicate with or instruct caregivers on patient therapeutic activities or treatment plans.
  • Continuing Education/Professional Development: Attend or conduct continuing education courses, seminars, or in-service activities to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service while providing therapy to patients.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain a positive, professional attitude and project a caring image. Wear company-issued ID at all times on the job.
  • Technology Use: Utilize applications as required for patient charting, recordkeeping and communication.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management to meet the needs of the patient and team.

Requirements
  • Associates degree for Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Current state Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure.
  • 6 months home health care experience preferred.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
