Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using both formal assessments and observational techniques to identify communication needs.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans to address both short-term objectives and long-standing communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Administer targeted speech therapy interventions designed to improve language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and families, to develop holistic care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources and guidance to patients and their families to aid in their progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation in alignment with both state and federal regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest practices and breakthroughs in the field.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
