Occupational Therapist (Part-Time Independent Contractor)
The School District of Jenkintown is seeking a skilled and collaborative Occupational Therapist to provide school-based services two days per week as an independent contractor. The successful candidate will support students in accessing their educational programs through targeted occupational therapy services aligned with individual needs and educational goals.
Anticipated Start Date: Part-time (2 days/week) contracted position beginning August 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Service Agreements.
- Conduct screenings, evaluations and reevaluations to determine students needs and eligibility for OT services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams by participating in IEP and 504 meetings, helping develop student goals and accommodations, and working closely with staff, parents, and service providers.
- Maintain appropriate records, documentation, and reports in compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Experience working with school-aged children in a school is preferred.
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and school-based service delivery.
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), including experience providing consultation and implementing interventions at Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3.
- The Occupational Therapist shall furnish a valid Certificate of Insurance, naming the School District of Jenkintown as an additional insured, prior to the commencement of services. Additional terms will be outlined in the independent contractor agreement.
- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and qualifications. Invoicing and payment terms will be specified in the independent contractor agreement.
