School Based Occupational Therapist - Minneapolis, MN

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist in a K-12 school setting. This contract position is ideal for professionals skilled in supporting students' ability to participate fully in school activities by addressing fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and other functional needs. The role focuses on helping students develop the skills necessary for academic success and independence in the classroom and beyond.

Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist License

• NBCOT certification preferred (new grads encouraged to apply)

• Experience working with K-12 students

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

• Knowledge of motor, sensory, and functional development needs

• Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate students functional abilities in school-related activities

• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans targeting fine motor, visual-motor, and sensory processing skills

• Collaborate with educators, parents, and related service providers to support student access and participation

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and documentation in compliance with school policies

• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor therapy effectiveness

• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and service planning

• Provide staff training and resources to support classroom integration of OT strategies
