School Occupational Therapist Norfolk, Virginia

Two full-time Occupational Therapist positions are available to serve K-12 students with diverse needs in the Norfolk, VA area, including Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake. These roles focus on supporting students, many with severe behavioral disorders, across functional and inclusion settings. One position primarily covers elementary grades, while the other spans kindergarten through 12th grade.

Key responsibilities include implementing sensory strategies to promote calming, enhancing tactile and fine motor skills, and providing handwriting therapy. Therapists will work closely with a collaborative team and support staff within small class sizes, typically around eight students, fostering an individualized and team-oriented environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Virginia Occupational Therapist license or pending licensure expected to be active by August
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably those with behavioral disorders
• Proficiency in sensory strategies and fine motor/handwriting therapies
• Strong collaborative skills in multidisciplinary settings
• Ability to manage caseloads within small class groups
