Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist - Delta, Utah

A K-12 educational institution in Delta, UT, is seeking a skilled Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist on a contract basis. This role supports students with hearing impairments by providing tailored educational strategies and interventions to promote their academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and identify the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments.
• Provide direct instruction and therapeutic support to students.
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Maintain detailed records and reports on student performance.
• Support communication access through assistive technologies and sign language as needed.

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or equivalent.
• Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in K-12 settings.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods.
• Strong understanding of hearing loss impacts on learning and development.
