A contract opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students within a K-12 school setting. This role is located in Lexington, KY, and focuses on delivering therapeutic services that enhance students' functional abilities and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working with children in a K-12 school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy practices
- Ability to implement individualized treatment plans
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals
- Commitment to supporting the developmental and educational needs of students
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist in assessing students motor skills, sensory processing, and functional performance
- Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care abilities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies
- Document and report on student progress in compliance with school policies and regulations
- Participate in meetings and professional development activities as required
