An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a K-12 educational setting in Chula Vista, CA. This contract position offers the chance to work collaboratively with speech-language pathologists and educators to enhance communication skills among diverse student populations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Support students in developing speech and language skills through direct intervention and group activities.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with program guidelines.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to promote effective communication strategies.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to the evaluation of student needs and treatment outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
- Experience working in K-12 educational environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of speech and language developmental milestones.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and work independently under supervision.
