DSHS BHHA Occupational Therapist 3

We are currently seeking an Occupation Therapist join our team at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health. In this role you will offer multiple services including daily activities, life skills, wellness recovery action plans, therapeutic leisure activities, sensory strategies, including groups and 1:1 interventions that focus on calming and grounding strategies, and other skills to support our patients. You may also provide clinical supervision to occupational therapy assistants. Join our team and help us provide outstanding care and support to those in need.

Some of what you'll do

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning
  • Provide a multitude of services to promote performance of and independence in ADLs and IADLs
  • Document services provided and patient progress toward treatment goals
  • Provide clinical supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistant 2s
  • Ensure procedures and standards are met for occupational therapy services provided

What we're looking for

  • Experience working with patients with behavioral and physical health diagnoses
  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Record system for documentation
  • Ability to comprehend, educate others, and grade treatments according to patient's strengths and challenges
  • Ability to establish rapport with patients that may have a wide range of communication and social skills to provide treatment and encourage treatment engagement while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Ability to work as an integral part of a team via excellent communication skills in providing and receiving feedback in a constructive, positive manner
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt as needed for the challenges specific to working in a psychiatric, forensic environment

Who should apply?

Graduates from an accredited Occupational Therapy program, successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) examination AND three years of professional Occupational Therapy experience.
