Physical Therapist Consultant Preschool Special Education (1099)
Location: Hudson, NY Position Type: Independent Contractor (Consultant) Pay Rate: $70.00 per hour Schedule: Part-time, Flexible Hours
Overview: We are currently seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Consultant to provide services in a preschool special education program. This is a 1099 independent contractor role, not an employee position. The ideal candidate is an experienced pediatric PT with strong communication and collaboration skills who is comfortable working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
You will support students' gross motor development in alignment with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and work closely with staff and families to help children meet developmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct screenings, assessments, and physical therapy sessions (individual or group)
+ Develop goals and therapy plans based on evaluations and IEPs
+ Provide consultation to teachers, clinicians, and families to support classroom integration of physical therapy strategies
+ Document services and progress according to school district and Medicaid standards
+ Participate in IEP meetings and provide input to the Child Study Team
+ Offer staff training and parent workshops related to physical development
+ Submit required reports and maintain accurate service records
+ Maintain and manage therapy equipment and supplies
+ Requirements:
+ Master's degree in Physical Therapy or related field
+ Valid New York State Physical Therapist License
+ Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in special education (preschool preferred)
+ Must carry professional liability/business insurance
+ Familiarity with IEP documentation and Medicaid billing standards preferred
+ Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
Additional Information:
+ This is an independent contractor (1099) position - no benefits are offered
+ Consultant must provide proof of licensure and insurance
+ Compensation is $70.00 per hour, paid upon invoice submission
+ Flexible schedule coordinated with program staff
