Description

  • Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using standardized instruments and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate objectives as well as overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy interventions centered on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
  • Engage in collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to devise integrated care plans.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to promote progress outside of therapy settings.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care for every patient.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation consistent with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing learning to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field through continued education and collaborative efforts with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
