Description
- Assess patients of all agespediatric, adult, and geriatricusing various standardized evaluations and keen observation.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that address both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate closely with physical, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to design cohesive and effective care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families to sustain progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in the occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Keep pace with developments in the field by pursuing continuing education and engaging with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
