Description

  • Utilize standardized assessments and observational techniques to evaluate patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics.
  • Create customized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Conduct individualized speech therapy sessions with an emphasis on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary teamworking with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to deliver integrated care approaches.
  • Educate patients and families to encourage their involvement in the therapeutic process beyond the clinical environment.
  • Provide occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless transition throughout the treatment process.
  • Document progress accurately and promptly, adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to professional growth by staying updated with advancements in the field through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
