Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized tests and observations.
- Create tailored treatment strategies that meet both immediate objectives and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate closely with occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans.
- Provide education to patients and their families to reinforce progress during and after therapy sessions.
- Support inpatient speech therapy needs as required, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
- Keep up-to-date documentation in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuous education and collaborative learning with peers to stay ahead in the field.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
