Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought to provide essential services to students from PreK through 12th grade within an onsite school environment. This contract position for the upcoming school year offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the communication development and academic success of a diverse student population. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized speech-language therapy to students across multiple school locations Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, including both initial assessments and re-evaluations Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing to goal development and ensuring compliance with documentation standards Maintain accurate records of student progress and service delivery in a timely manner Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary specialists to support student needs and educational goals Ensure adherence to IDEA, state, and district policies and procedures Provide support within general and special education settings Assist with or implement Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, with training available as needed Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Active Maine SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; candidates completing clinical fellowship with substantial school-based experience will also be considered Knowledge of school-based therapy practices, IEP processes, and progress monitoring methods Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfort working with a wide age range of students (PreK-12) Preferred Qualifications: Experience using AAC tools and strategies Familiarity with supporting students with autism, developmental delays, and multiple disabilities Prior experience in school-based settings strongly preferred Caseload and Support: Balanced caseload distributed across age groups and student needs Access to assessment materials, digital resources, and professional development opportunities Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team including Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and special education personnel This position offers an engaging and rewarding environment for professionals dedicated to advancing student communication skills and educational outcomes.
