• The Respiratory Therapist (C) assumes responsibility for caring for and completing tasks that contribute to high quality, safe and effective care. The therapist will execute protocols, administer respiratory therapies, and educate patients and families about conditions and treatments. This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Life Care.

• Demonstrates technical and professional competence in high-risk procedures.
• Applies knowledge of various development stages in the planning and implementation of care of each patient.
• Performs the full range of respiratory therapy functions: O2/aerosol therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy and postural drainage, wright peak flow, suctioning, ambulating with oxygen, pulse oximetry, arterial blood gases (including femoral artery in emergency situations), respiratory protocols, incentive spirometry, flutter valve and PEP therapy, Pflex therapy and O2 rounds.
• Sets up and manages equipment with patients including Bi-PAP systems, ventilators and overnight oximeters.
• Charts all patient treatments, procedures, and completes all charges in the computer.
• Other duties as assigned.

• All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. H.S. Diploma required. Graduated from an accredited respiratory therapy program approved by the NBRC, where clinical rotations were completed required.
• CRTT - Cert Respiratory Thrpst- CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. RCP - Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner- current, valid, and licensed in the state of Missouri required. Clinical\BCLS - Basic Life Support- Must obtain within 30 days of hire required. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support- Must obtain within 6 months of hire required. PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Supp Must obtain within 6 months of hire 180 Days is required. RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Must obtain within 2 years of transfer/hire into position is required.
• 1 -2 years experience preferred.
